APPLICATION
 
These high pressure multistage centrifugal pumps are suitable for water supply, irrigation, sprinkler installations, high pressure water in hydraulic press and hydraulic circuits, condensate pumps, wash down applications, fire fighting, transfer cooling water, hot circulation and as boiler feed pumps.
 
CONSTRUCTION
 
The standard construction is horizontal foot mounted design, single or multistage, with vertically split suction, intermediate and discharge casings.  The intermediate casings are clamped together by external tie bolt and sealed with gaskets or 'O' ring as required by the design, pumping temperature of the liquid pumped and the construction of the pump.
 
BEARINGS
 
Bearings are enclosed in two bearing housing one on each side. CM and CHP series pump in standard construction are fitted with deep groove ball bearing at both ends and for use in the hot water construction are fitted with cylindrical roller bearing at suction end and with deep groove ball bearing at the discharge end
 
SEALING ARRANGEMENT
 
Conventional soft graphite lubricated asbestos packed stuffing boxes are incorporated on either side of the pump.  The shaft is fitted with renewable shaft sleeve in the region of the stuffing box, which protects the shaft from wear due to packing. This standard construction is recommended for operating temperatures up to 90ºc.  For higher temperatures exceeding 90ºc up to 140ºc, special water-jacketed stuffing boxes are fitted, which maintain the temperature in the stuffing box region within acceptable limit in case of CHP series pumps.  For special applications special design of stuffing boxes or mechanical seals can be fitted as required.
 
SUCTION AND DELIVERY NOZZLES
 
The standard pump will have suction nozzle horizontal located on the right hand side when viewed from the driving end. The central position and the left-hand position of the suction nozzle can also be supplied. The discharge nozzle will be top vertical located near the non-drive end. Both the nozzles are flanged.
 
DRIVE
 
The prime mover should be directly connected to the pump through a flexible coupling.  The direction of rotation is clockwise as viewed from the driving end.
